Try the Simple Insurance Needs calculator to see where you stand.

“Do I really need to buy insurance? I am single, and young with no dependents.”

You do not immediately show a need for more expensive, permanent type of insurance. Term insurance may suit your present needs and Permanent life insurance may suit your future needs.

“I can't afford life insurance.”

Life insurance products are created to look after consumer needs. Most consumers when they are starting out cannot afford high premiums and therefore opt for the less expensive temporary term insurance to get started.

“They would not insure me anyway since I am in poor health, have had a heart attack, etc.).”

Yes, you may be considered a higher risk with more expensive premiums, but sometimes the risk (sub-standard risk) is not as bad as you think. Speak to a qualified representative to find out.

“I have protection. I have group insurance, mortgage insurance, WCB, and government sponsored health care plans.”

Yes, you are protected as long as you are able to work. Individually owned coverage ensures that you are always in control.
