Is term death benefit constant?
If a Group or Association Plan or if reducing coverage in future on regular term plans enter "No"; a separate input screen will be provided later to input death benefit details. If other term, (i.e. 5 YRT, 10 YRT), then enter "Yes".

Cash value life insurance plan (whole life or universal life); also known as permanent insurance.

Is the cash value premium constant?
If all premiums for the plan are constant, enter "Yes", then please tab over to enter an Annual cash value premium, followed by Number of annual premiums paid. If future premiums vary then enter "No". A separate input screen will be provided to input the varying cash value premiums.

Annual cash value premium
If the cash value (whole life or universal life) life insurance premiums are constant, enter the level annual premium amount.

Number of annual premiums paid
If using a cash value life insurance plan (whole life or universal life) that becomes paid-up or with a vanishing premium option, or a universal life policy with a quick pay premium scenario, enter the number of years paid. If level premiums are paid throughout, leave this field blank.

Is the cash value death benefit constant?
If the cash value death benefit is not constant enter "No". A separate input screen will be provided to input the varying cash value death benefit.

Pre-tax investment rate
Insert the before-tax rate of return that you expect to receive on your investments. This rate will be used to calculate the interest earnings on the invested difference in premiums.

Marginal tax rate
Input the rate at which the income earned on the investments is to be taxed (i.e. 26, 36, 42, or 45). An illustration for registered investments, such as registered retirement savings plans, may be obtained by inserting "0".
